Abstract

Coconut oil Biodiesel is an altemative fuel made from vegetable fat that is eco friendly and can reduccs fuel consumption and increases the good value of fuel, also decreases the exhaust emissions in diesel engine. Observation and research of the coconut biodiesel addition in diesel fuel toward machine prestige and exhaust emissions have been done. The parameters that have been researched are the fuel mixtures 10% (B 10), 20% (B20), 30% (B30), energy or power and RPM. Exhaust emissions that have been researched include CO, CO2, and HC. Research have been done with diesel engine generator set type RI 75 with rotation varieties 1500 rpm, 1750 rpm, 2000 rpm, and 2250 rpm, and various power. Utility for exhaust emissions measurement is Stargas analyzer type 898. Results of the research show that mixtures of biodiesel and diesel fuel increases the cetane number, also lowest emission is showed in B20 mixture as same as the machine prestige and its specific fuel consumption (SFC).
