Abstract

The main pest that attack oil palm field is rat that attack fruit bunches of oil palm, female flower and male flower. This study aims to determine the effectivity various active ingredient of the most effective rat poison to kill rat. This research has been conducted with twice test, test of favourite bait (fruit, female flower and male flower) with used randomized completely design, the test used with three treatments with ten times replication and test of bait and rodenticide (Brodifakum, Kumatetralyl, Warfarin) with used randomized completely design, this test has been conducted with three treatments and 1 control treatments with ten times replication. Results of bait test is tree rat prefers female flower than male flower and fruit with female flower average consumption 397,76 gr. The bait and rodenticide test, the fastest edible rodenticide is warfarin. But, this poison ineffective of kill rats because it takes much time to kill rats which require 132 hours to kill one rat. The most effective to kill rats is kumatetralil with mortality reach 90% from 10 replication. The symptoms from eating rodenticide is bleeding symptoms on mouth, nose, and genitals. Rats Heart, lungs, and liver which concume rodenticide terlihat is darker and looked not fresh than the normal heart. Rats genitals is bleeding and discoloration intestine as with rodenticide consume.
