Abstract

The purpose of this research was study about effect of biomass coconut fibre, midrib palm oil, and corn cobs to the rate drying kemplang on a dryer of rack type. This research was conducted on Agricultural Technology Department, Agricultural Faculty, University of Sriwijaya on December 2015 to September 2016. This research using descriptive methods with the data shown in the form table and charts. The moisture content use energy biomass of coconut fibre, midrib palm oil, and corn cobs in a sequence are 8,74 %, 16,76 %, and 18,46 %. The drying rate using biomass energy of coconut fibre, midrib palm oil, and corn cobs in a sequence are 15,19 % per hour, 13,18 % per hour, and 12,73 per hour. Total energy produced by biomass of coconut fibre, midrib palm oil, and corn cobs in a sequence are 21.656,54 kJ, 20.223,81 kJ, and 17.429,81 kJ. The efficiency of drying using biomass energy coconut fibre, the midrib palm oil, and corn cobs in a in a sequence are 6,46 %, 7,06 %, and 6,25 %.
