Abstract
Segmentation is an image processing that can be used in medical world to separate object from background in detecting a disease in the human body. One of the diseases that can be detected is glaucoma by observing retinal abnormalities by segmenting optic cup and optic disc on the retinal image. This study proposes a combination architecture of Atrous Spatial Pyramid Pooling (ASPP) and Inception U-Net in optic segmentation of retinal images. ASPP is applied after last encoder block in U-Net and Inception is applied to each decoder block of U-Net. The results obtained consist of accuracy, sensitivity, specificity, F1-Score and IoU of 97.59%, 93.67%, 98.29%, 94.04% and 89.01% respectively. Accuracy shows very good evaluation performance in predicting each label consisting of optic cup, optic disc, and background. This architecture is also very good at detecting pixels on optic cup and optic disc labels as well as on background label.
