Abstract

This research aim to determine the existance, population and types of endomikoriza spores on cutting acacia (Acacia crassicarpa) on peat land PT. Bumi Andalas Permai, Tulung Selapan District, Ogan Komering Ilir. The research was conducted in August 2012 to December 2012 at PT. Bumi Andalas Permai, Tulung Selapan District, Ogan Komering Ilir. The method used is very detailed survey with level density field observations 1-2 samples per ha at 2 different plot is the plot of peaty soils and shallow peat each 4 ha. Soil samples were taken, and taken to the laboratory for analysis of soil pH, C-Organic and P-available. As for the population count of spores and spore identification endomikoriza used wet sieving method according to Gerdemann and Nicolson (1963) and followed by centrifugation method according to Brundrett et al., (1994). From the isolated samples by wet sieving process and by centrifugation method, known population of spores endomikoriza abundant in shallow peat soil with an average of 383 spora/50 g. While on peaty soil, the average population of spores lower at 227 spora/50 g. Then, the results of identification based morphological characteristics of both types of peat, found 3 types is endomikoriza on spores of Glomus sp type, Acaulospora sp, and Gigaspora sp where Glomus sp had the highest number of on-site activities at the shallow peat and peaty soils.
