Abstract

The quality value of coal is strongly influenced by factors of moisture, ash, sulfur, volatile matter, fixed carbon, and caloric value. To meet consumer needs according to caloric value requirements, the alternative is to carry out a coal mixing process known as blending. This study aims to determine the coal quality of mine brand (AL55LS, AL52LS, and BAS 48), mathematical models, and the composition of coal weight to obtain BA 50. Efforts to obtain BA-50 are carried out by coal blending mine brand AL55LS with BAS48 and mine AL52LS brand with BAS48. The analysis carried out in this study, namely, multiple linear regression of calorific value in the blending process so as to obtain mathematical models including; For AL55LS and BAS48 blending ; GCV = 7.183,92 – 34,74 x TM1.2 – 54,48 x A – 288,38 x S For AL-52LS and BAS48 blending ; GCV = 7.519,26 – 81,32 x TM – 50,54 x A – 189,92 x S The results of coal blending above show that the magnitude of the decrease in GCV for the increase of 1% ar TM 79 kcal / kg-ar and 81 kcal / kg-ar. While the magnitude of the decrease in GCV for an increase of 1% A in each blending the same, which is equal to 50 kcal / kg-ar. Then the magnitude of the decrease in GCV for the increase of 0.1% ar S in each blending 18 kcal / kg-ar and 19 kcal / kg-ar. For the coal composition weight ratio, the GCV target blending of 5,000 kcal / kg-ar produces: AL55LS (43%) and BAS48 (57%), AL52LS (60%) and BAS48 (40%).
