Abstract

The research was aimed to know the effected of chitinous material from crab, marigold meal, and urea mixtures for control {Meloidogyne incognita) on tomato. The research was carried out nematology laboratory and green house in the Departement of Plant Pest and Disease, Agriculture Faculty University of Sriwijaya from Januari until April 2006. of root-knot nematode The research was arranged by completely Randomized Design, vvith six treatment and four applications. The treatment were : A = nematicide, B = control, C = chitin (12.5 g per polibag), D = KKU (chitinous from crab, marigold meal. and urea mixtures) soil weight 0.5% (25 g per polibag), E = KKU (chitinous from crab, marigold meal, and urea mixtures) soil weight 1% (50 g per polibag), and F = KKU (chitinous from crab, marigold meal, and urea mixtures) soil weight 2% (100 g per polibag). The observed parameters were the intensity of damage, number of gali, number of eggmass, nematode population, fresh shoot weights, and fresh root weights. The result on anova single factor analyses showed that chitinous from crab, marigold meal, and urea mixtures was very significantly on all parameter. Application khitin 12,5 g per polibag is the best treatment because can to decrease intensity of damage, number of gali, number eggmass and nematode population. Application KKU 1% can to increase the fresh root and fresh shoot weights on tomato.
