Abstract

The objectives of this research was to control the white root disease R. microporus on rubber seedlings by combination of Trichoderma spp. isolates. This research was conducted at Phytopathology laboratory and experiment field of Plant Pests and Diseases Departement, Agriculture Faculty of Sriwijaya University from HAMADIYAH. April until September 2005. The tested isolates of Trichoderma spp. were selected based on : 1) growth rate on mycelia of R. microporus, 2) growth pattem on mycelia of R. microporus, 3) morphology and dimension of phialides and conidia and 4) compatibility between isolates. Isolates of Trichoderma spp. tested in the study consist of 4 single isolates, 4 combinations of 2 isolates and 2 combination 24 isolates. Each combination tested to 3 isolates of R. microporus named is Sbs 10, Sbl 1 and Klb 31. This trial tested on rubber seedling clone GT 1 and BPM 24. The result showed that out of 21 isolates selected a combination of 4 isolates of T. virens was able to suppressed 60,3% of white root severity as compared to control. This study suggest that disease suppression by application of combination of was 4 isolates as shown by lower value of root necrotic 15,4% compared with combination of 2 isolates. The conclusion, that more combination of Trichoderma spp. isolate on this research would be more effective and stable in controlling the white disease caused by R. microporus.
