Abstract
Acute Respiratory Infection (ARI) is included in the top 10 environmental-based diseases that cause high morbidity and mortality in toddlers. This study aims to analyze factors related to the incidence of Respiratory Tract Infections (ARI) in toddlers at the Sukajadi Health Center. This study used a Cross Sectional design with the study population being toddlers. The sampling technique was taken by Purposive Sampling on 112 respondents. Data analysis used was univariate analysis, bivariate analysis using the chi square test. The results showed that 45.5% of toddlers had experienced ISPA, bivariate analysis showed that there was no relationship between toddler age (p-value = 1,000), ventilation area (p-value = 0.756), and housing density (p-value = 0.919). There is a relationship between gender (p-value = 0.000), immunization status (p-value = 0.000), family member smoking habits (p-value = 0.000), mother's knowledge (p-value = 0.030), mother's attitude (p-value = 0.000). The conclusion in this study is the frequency of ARI occurrence in Sukajadi Health Center, namely there are 54.5% of toddlers who experience ARI and 45.5% of toddlers who do not experience ARI. The suggestion that can be taken in this study is that the community is expected to improve their daily habits, and always pay attention to the symptoms that are often experienced in ARI. ARI symptoms generally last about 1-2 weeks, with the addition of complaints that have occurred. If there are symptoms or complaints in ARI, it is better to do further examination to the Health Agency to find out whether our body has a virus that can cause ARI or not.
