Abstract

This experiment was aimed to study the influence of Trichoderma sp. combined with organic fertilizer to suppress the growth of White Rot Fungus, caused by Rigidoporus lignosus on rubber plant in Gelumbang District. Experiment is conducted at Laboratory of Phytopathology, Department of Plant Pests and Diseases, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University, Indralaya Campus, and at Experimental Station of Faculty of Agriculture in Gelumbang District from February 2011 to June 2011. Materials used for this experiment were fungi colony of Trichoderma sp., Potato Dextrose Agar (PDA) media, Glucose Yeast (GY) media, white rot fungus colony, distilled water, antibiotics, organic fertilizer, bran, and compost. Descriptive analysis method was used for this experiment and design for three treatments. Results showed that Trichoderma sp. controlled white rot fungus more effective than of organic fertilizer.
