Abstract
This research was conducted in the Laboratory of Nematologi Department of Pests and Diseases, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Sriwijaya, Inderalaya, from March 2012 to August 2012. The purpose of this research was to know the morphology and biology of S. glaseri applied to larvae O. rhinoceros in the laboratory. This research described on the morphology and biology of larva, male and femail of entomopathogen nematode with 1 treatment and 10 replicates for 11 days. Each larvae was inoculated with 300 Ijs S. glaseri as a comparison (control) G. mellonela larvae infected with the S. glaseri The results of this study indicate that there was a difference in size of S. glaseri on O. rhinoceros relative to G. melonella. The body length of females and males on O. rhinoceros was (2635 pm) and (2678 pm) in longest respectively compared with S. glaseri on larvae of G. melonella (2411 pm) and (2658 pm) whereas S. glaseri on stadia smaller larvae on the larvae of O. rhinoceros is (1052 pm) than in larvae of G. melonella (1210 pm). S. glaseri reproduced aboundanly the larvae of O. rhinoceros (2517 Ijs) compared to that of G. melonella (1582 Ijs) S. glaseri was able to survive longer in the soil the 62-days (150,5 Ijs) as much as obtainable S. glaseri compare to on 92-days (5,60 Ijs).
