Abstract

The objective of research was to investigate the diversity of insects species on field of cabbage in Pagar Jaya Village, Pagaralam City the research was conducted from April until May 2005. This research was conducted using survey method and direct observation. Sampel was taken by two type of trap such as Pan trap and Pitfall trap. The parameter of the research were diversity and population. Diversity and population of the insect were analized by Shannon Indeks. Domination of the species were analized by Berger-Parker Indeks. Distribution of the species were analized by Pielou Indeks. The result of the research showed that the diversity of the insect were caught by pan trap would be higher than pitfall trap. Pan trap the cought 31 species of the insect from 7 ordo with total speciment 1022. Pitfall trap cought 4 species of the insect from 3 ordo with total speciment 332.
