Abstract

Tubifex sp. (silkworms) is a natural food that farmers widely use to feed fish larvae because it has a higher nutrient content such as protein at 48%. Silkworm cultivation requires an appropriate feed dose to increase growth and survival. Feeding fermented feed can make the protein contained in the feed easily absorbed. This study aimed to determine the dose of fermented feed needed in the culture of silkworms, to increase the growth of weight and population of silkworms. The research was conducted at the Aquaculture Laboratory and Experimental Pond, Aquaculture Study Program, Department of Fisheries, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University. This study used experimental methods and was designed using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 3 treatments and 3 replicates. The treatments used were different doses of fermented feed, using a mixture of tofu pulp, fine bran, organic fertilizer, vegetable waste, molasses, and EM-4. The dosages of the treatments were 150 g m⁻² (P1), 200 g m⁻² (P2), and 250 g m⁻² (P3). The results showed that P3 was the best treatment with an average absolute biomass growth of 173.80 ± 6.9 g m⁻², a daily growth rate of 4.16 ± 0.13%, and a population of 77513 ± 3067 ind m⁻².
