Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas tentang pengaruh penuaan thermal silicone rubber yang diimpregnasi didalam minyak mineral. Pengujian dilakukan terhadap sampel silicone rubber yang diimpregnasi didalam minyak mineral pada temperatur 40°C dan 80°C untuk waktu selama 72 jam, sebagai perbandingan Dilakukan juga pengujian terhadap sampel silicone rubber untuk melihat pengaruh penuaan termal. Sampel dibuat dalam bentuk sheet dengan ukuran panjang 50 mm, lebar 50 mm dan tebal 1 mm. Pengujian yang dilakukan adalah pengukuran sudut kontak, tegangan tembus dan kekuatan mekanik. Pengukuran sudut kontak, tegangan tembus, dan kekuatan mekanik pada silicone rubber tanpa pengkondisian mendapatkan nilai 101,4 °, 30,6 kV dan 1,3487629 Kg.f/mm2. Pada pengondisian tempeatur 40°C nilai sudut kontak, tegangan tembus, dan kekuatan mekanik yang didapat sebesar 93,4°, 26,2, kV dan 0,6001237 Kg.f/mm2. Kemudian pada pengondisian temperatur 80°C nilai sudut kontak, tegangan tembus dan kekuatan mekanik yang didapat sebesar 83,2°, 20,4 kV dan 0,3864433° Kg.f/mm2. Dari hasil pengukuran sudut kontak, tegangan tembus dan kekuatan mekanik dapat dilihat bahwa temperatur berpegaruh pada nilai sudut kontak, tegangan tembus dan kekuatan mekanik. Hal ini dapat dilihat pada sampel dengan pengondisian temperatur 80°C terjadi penurunan nilai sudut kontak, tegangan tembus dan kekuatan mekanik yang signifikan jika dibandingkan dengan sampel silicone rubber. This thesis reports the effect of thermal aging of mineral oil-impregnated Silicone Rubber. Tests were carried out on samples of silicone rubber impregnated with mineral oil at temperatures of 40°C and 80°C for 72 hours. As a comparison, tests were also carried out on samples of silicone rubber to see the effect of thermal aging. The samples were made in sheet form with a length of 50 mm, width 50 mm and thickness 1 mm. The tests carried out were measurements of contact angle, breakdown voltage and mechanical strength. Measurements of the contact angle, breakdown voltage and mechanical strength of untreated silicone rubber obtained values of 101.4°, 30.6 kV and 1,3487629 Kg.f/mm2. At a temperature of 40°C, the contact angle, breakdown voltage and mechanical strength values obtained were 93.4°, 26.2 kV and 0,6001237 Kg.f/mm2. Then, at a temperature of 80°C, the contact angle, breakdown voltage and mechanical strength obtained were 83.2°, 20.4 kV and 0,3864433 Kg.f/mm2. From the test results for angles, breakdown voltage and mechanical strength, it can be seen that temperature has an effect on the contact angle values, breakdown voltage and mechanical strength. This can be seen in samples with temperature conditioning of 80°C, there is a significant decrease in the value of contact angle, breakdown voltage and mechanical strength when compared to silicone rubber samples.
