Abstract

Background: Adolescent pregnancy has various negative consequences, such as dropping out of school, a tendency towards child abuse, and a high risk of delivery complications, which contribute to the increase in maternal mortality rate (MMR). Efforts to ensure the implementation of quality antenatal services are important to discuss in order to reduce MMR. There is no specific data on the relationship between the implementation of integrated antenatal care and the quality of services for adolescent pregnancy, particularly in Palembang City. Mehod: This study was a cross-sectional study aimed at determining the relationship between the implementation of integrated antenatal care and the quality of services for adolescent pregnancies in health centers in Palembang City. The study population includes all pregnant teenagers (ages 10 – 19) who made antenatal visits in Palembang City. Pregnant women who do not have complete medical records, are not willing to be research samples, or cannot be contacted are excluded from the study. The quality of service includes 5 dimensions: tangible, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy. Linear regression analysis was conducted to determine the correlation coefficient (r), R² value, and p-value of each quality dimension concerning integrated antenatal care. A p-value <0.05 was considered statistically significant. Result: The correlation coefficient (r) and p-value between the dimensions of tangible, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, empathy, and overall service quality concerning integrated antenatal care are 0.106 and 0.499; 0.131 and 0.402; 0.025 and 0.872; 0.255 and 0.099; 0.215 and 0.166; and 0.160 and 0.305, respectively. The p-value of the relationship between service quality and patient satisfaction is 0.004. Scatter plot declare that there is positive correlation between the integrated antenatal care and quality of services with very weak strength. Conclusion: The dimensions of tangible, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, empathy are not related to the integrated antenatal care, but related to patient satsifaction for adolescent pregnancies in Palembang City.
