Abstract

The tobacco industry (IHT) is one of the strategic domestic sectors with high competitiveness and continues to make a significant contribution to the national economy. This study aims to analyze the impact of the trade specialization index (ISP) and output growth on the value added of the tobacco processing industry (2006-2021) in Indonesia ISIC (12091). The data used in this study are secondary data obtained from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) and UN Comtrade. The research method employs multiple linear regression analysis. The results of the ISP calculation show a value of 0.0412 with a coefficient of 0.283725, meaning that a I percent increase in the trade specialization index will lead to a 28 percent increase in the value added of the industry. Meanwhile, the output growth variable shows a value of 0.2215, which indicates a positive impact, but it is not statistically significant. Keywords: Impact of ISP, Output growth, Tobacco.
