Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the performance of a fish grinding machine driven by an AC motor, compared to a manual machine in terms of production capacity, energy consumption, and time efficiency. The results show that the AC motor-powered grinder can process 150 kg of fish per hour, significantly higher than the manual machine’s capacity of only 10.3 kg per hour. This increase in capacity is due to the constant power output of the AC motor, which makes the grinding process faster and more efficient. In terms of energy consumption, the machine uses 46.6 Wh in 2.5 minutes, equivalent to 1.12 kWh per hour. The energy efficiency is recorded at 133.9 kg/kWh, indicating that the machine is energy-efficient and highly suitable for small to medium-scale production. Additionally, the use of the AC motor reduces time by 93% compared to the manual machine. Thus, the AC motor-powered fish grinder significantly improves production capacity, energy efficiency, and time savings, making it an ideal choice for enhancing productivity in the fish processing industry.
