Abstract

The purpose of this research was to describe the public relations strategy of Ogan Ilir Relation Government to maintain relations with the media in order to maintain a positive image. To analyze using descriptive qualitative method is a qualitative method that refers to the collection of data in the form of observations, interviews and researchers action as observers. And by using data collection techniques carried out of this research was interviews and documentation. After the data was obtained, the data analysis was performed using the data analysis model of Miles and Huberman load reduction data, data presentation and conclusions. From the result of this research can be concluded. Media relations activities in the form of managing relations with the media and good relationship with available media, and obstacles that are experienced was more internal barriers or more to the regional work units and the lack of television media as a media for disseminating information to the public and so forth. Through media relations or media relations, the media can be a collaborative partner for the public relations activity publication process in delivering messages to the public.
