Abstract
Demam Berdarah Dengue, SGOT, SGPT, Derajat Keparahan, Anak Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is an infectious disease that can cause severe complications such as shock. Previous studies have shown an increase in liver enzymes, particularly SGOT and SGPT, in DHF patients, often associated with severity of disease. However, research on specific relationship between SGOT, SGPT, and DHF severity in children is still limited. This study aims to analyze the relationship between SGOT and SGPT levels and the severity of DHF in children. This study used an observational analytic design with a cross-sectional approach based on secondary data from medical records and central laboratories in RSUP Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang from January 2020 to June 2024. Patient characteristics, SGOT and SGPT levels, and DHF severity were recorded. The relationship between SGOT, SGPT, and disease severity was analyzed using logistic regression tests. The majority of patients were 5-10 years old (47,5%), with higher distribution on male (50,8%). Most had not received fluids before hospitalization (83,1%), with onset of fever was on day-5 (39%) and the most common length of stay was ≤4 days (62,7%). SGOT and SGPT levels were higher in patients with more severe conditions. Bivariate analysis showed a significant relationship between SGOT (p=0.027) and SGPT (p=0.001) with disease severity. Logistic regression analysis revealed SGPT as a more significant variable (p=0.004). In conclusion, SGOT and SGPT levels are associated with severity of DHF in children, with SGPT being a strongest variable. The SGOT and SGPT examinations are important for monitoring DHF progression and preventing further complications. Keywords. Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever, SGOT, SGPT, Severity, Children
