Abstract
Pabrik pembuatan Metil Ester Sulfonate (MES) berbahan baku minyak kelapa kapasitas 50.000 ton/tahun ini direncanakan berdiri pada tahun 2029 di daerah Medang Kampai, Kota Dumai, Provinsi Riau dengan perkiraan luas area sebesar 9 Ha. Bahan baku untuk pembuatan MES adalah Metil Laurat dan Sulfur Trioksida. Proses pembuatan MES ini mengacu pada Patent CN112717968A menggunakan proses sulfonasi Metil Laurat dan Sulfur Trioksida. Reaktor yang digunakan adalah tipe Falling Film Reactor yang beroperasi pada temperatur 90°C dan tekanan 0,4 atm. Pabrik ini berbentuk Perseroan Terbatas (PT) dengan sistem organisasi Lini and Fungsional Staf, dipimpin oleh seorang Direktur Utama dengan total karyawan 322 orang. Berdasarkan analisis ekonomi, pabrik MES ini layak untuk didirikan karena telah memenuhi parameter kelayakan ekonomi yaitu: Total Capital Investment (TCI) = US$ 69.554.413,57 Selling Price per Year = US$ 160.945.539,87 Total Production Cost (TPC) = US$ 121.055.189,05 Annual Cash Flow = US$ 32.981.798,96 Pay Out time (POT) = 1,9 tahun Rate of return on investment (ROR)= 40,15 % Discounted Cash Flow –ROR = 99,63 % Break Even Point (BEP) = 38,3 % Service Life = 10 tahun Kata Kunci: Metil Ester Sulfonate, Minyak Kelapa, Sulfur Trioksida, Sulfonasi, Falling Film Reactor
