Abstract

Pearl gourami fishhave the prospect of being an ornamental fish. However the production of fish still depend on capture in nature. The production of fish seeds can be done through artificial spawning with the injection of gonadotropin hormone which can stimulate the process of maturation of fish gonads. This study aimed to determine the combination dose of sGnRH-a and hCG to the latency time, fertilization percentage, hatching percentage, survival rate and abnormality percentage of pearl gourami fish. This research was carried out the Basic Fisheries Laboratory, Aquaculture study program, Department of Fisheries, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University in March-April 2024. This study used a completely randomized design with 2 treatments and 3 replications, from P1 (sGnRH-a 0.0007 mL g-1+ hCG 0.045 mL g-1) and P2 (sGnRH-a 0.0007 mL g-1+ hCG 0.055 mL g-1). The result showed that P2 was the best treatment with a latency time 47.64 hours, fertilization percentage 94.33%, hatching percentage 98.67%, survival rate 97.25% and abnormality percentage 0.69%. The water quality during study namely temperature ranged from 28.0-29.2oC, pH 6.0-7.8, dissolved oxygen 3.7-4.5 mg L-1, and ammonia 0.001-0.023 mg L-1.
