Abstract

This research aimed to investigate the effect of mulching and liming on the growth and yield of the shallot. This research has been done on February 2017 until April 2017 in Experimental State Faculty of Agriculture Sriwijaya University, Indralaya. The design by used in this research was Split Plot Design with 8 treatments which were repeated three times, therefore they were obtained 24 unit of plots. The treatment consisted of non-mulching (M0), mulching (M1), without liming (P0), liming with dose of 1 ton ha-1 (P1), liming with dose of 2 ton ha-1 (P3). The result of the research showed that mulching was better than nonmulching. Liming with dose of 2 ton ha-1 was better than non-liming. Those facts was shown in plant height parameter.
