Abstract

Physical fitness is the basic ability to perform daily activities or activities effectively and efficiently without causing excessive fatigue. Factors that affect fitness include nutritional status, diet, and stress. Physical fitness in medical students is important because it will affect their health and academic performance. This study aims to analyze the effect of nutritional status, diet, and stress on physical fitness in medical students of Sriwijaya University batch 2024. This study is an observational analytic research with a cross-sectional design. Primary data were obtained through direct measurement of body weight and height, the measurement of physical fitness using the harvard step test and a questionnaire completed by medical students of Sriwijaya University batch 2024. In this study, it was found that most respondents had good nutritional status, a healthy diet, and experienced stress. The majority of respondents had a poor level of physical fitness. This study shows that there is a significant effect between nutritional status on physical fitness with p = 0.002 and OR 6.243. There is a significant effect between diet on physical fitness with p = 0.004 and OR 4.787. Furthermore, stress significantly affected physical fitness with p = 0.002 and OR 4.783. There is a significant effect of nutritional status, diet, and stress on the physical fitness in medical students of Sriwijaya University batch 2024.
