Abstract

This research aimed to know the process of application of Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) learning model to improve students learning outcomes in chemical subjects of class XI IPA 2 of Az-Zahrah Islamic School Palembang. This research was classroom action research which conducted in three cycles. Data collection was using observation sheet and post test cycle. The average score of students' cognitive learning outcome before treatment (T0) was 60.41 with passing grade of 10.34%. The average score of students learning outcome at cycle I (T1) was 65.09 with passing grade of 52.17%. The average score of students learning outcome at cycle II (T2) was 74.81 with passing grade of 65.38%. The average score of students' learning outcome at cycle III (T3) was 78.78 with passing grade of 85.19%. The results of this research of T3>T2>T1>T0 showed that STAD learning model increased students' learning outcomes. Based on the results of this research, researcher suggests the teachers who have the same problem in teaching can apply STAD learning model to improve students' learning outcomes.
