Abstract

AJENG ALVIONITA ROMADONI. The effects of emmersed medium and compost on pH, P, soil bases and growth of date palm germination on floating system. (Guided by Siti Masreah Bernas dan Bakri). This study aims to determine the effect of different immersed depth and application of compost doses (Melastoma malabathricum L.) to pH, CEC, Ca, Mg, Na, P of soil, P of plants and plant roots in seedlingof lulu palm date (Phoenix dactylifera L .) with a floating farming system. This research was conducted from May 2017 until September 2017 on floating farm, Faculty of Agriculture, SriwijayaUniversity. This study uses Split Plot Design, the main plot consists of 3 puddles (R0 = Watered, R1 = 1 cm, R2 = 5 cm) and the subplot consists of 5 doses of compost (K0 = 0 g per plant , K1 = 50 g per plant, K2 = 100 g cropping, K3 = 150 g per plant, K4 = 200 g per plant). The results showed that the compost dose of 100 g per plant was able to increase root plant growth and increase the value of CEC, Bases, P of soil and P of plants. Treatment of watered puddles and 1 cm can increase the roots of plants, CEC, soil bases, P of soil and P of plants. This study also showed compost dosage treatment of 100 g per plant and flush treatment in flush was able to increase the growth of date palm seeds.
