Abstract

Cassava (Manihot eculenta cranzt) is a plant that is often found in Indonesia and is a plant that has many benefits. Using different watering volumes and planting media compositions is one of the efforts to maintain the survival of cassava plants, especially in dry land. This research aims to determine plants that can still tolerate drought stress and the best composition of planting media for the growth and yield of cassava plants (Manihot esculenta Crantz). This research was carried out in a greenhouse. The time for conducting the research starts from June to August 2024. Cassava plants are planted using 10 kg polybags. The research was conducted using a Randomized Block Design (RAKF) method with two factors and repeated 3 times. The first factor is water stress using a field capacity (C) approach with 4 watering levels, namely C1 (250 ml), C2 (500 ml), C3 (750 ml), C4 (1000 ml). The second factor is the composition of the planting medium (M), namely M1 = Soil (100%), M2 = Soil: Chicken Manure (4:1), M3 = Soil: Goat Manure (4:1). There were 12 combinations and each was repeated 3 times, so that 36 experimental units were obtained. Each experiment consisted of 3 plants so there were 108 plants. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that cassava plants with drought levels show the best results in the C3 treatment (750 ml) but are not much different from the C4 treatment (1000 ml). Then cassava plants treated with the composition of chicken manure and goat manure showed results that were not much different, but the best results were shown in the M2 (chicken manure) treatment. Then, based on the results of the interaction between the level of drought and the composition of different planting media, the best results were shown in the C4M2 treatment.
