Abstract
The use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology in student learning is an increasingly relevant issue in the context of modern education. AI has opened new opportunities for enhancing the effectiveness of learning in higher education. This study aims to determine students' perceptions of AI technology in assisting the learning process in the Mechanical Engineering Education program at Sriwijaya University. The research method used in this study is quantitative descriptive, utilizing questionnaires as a data collection tool to understand students' perceptions of AI technology in learning. This research was conducted on students majoring in Mechanical Engineering Education, with a population of 349 students and a sample of 187 students. After the data was collected, it was analyzed using descriptive quantitative analysis. The results indicate that students' perceptions are generally positive, with the majority feeling that AI helps in understanding the material and completing tasks efficiently, although a small portion expressed dissatisfaction. 80% of students have a good understanding of AI, and overall, from the results of all the given statement items, a satisfaction level of 77% was achieved, which falls into the category of agreeing that AI technology helps in the learning process.
