Abstract

Adequate nutrition during pregnancy is essential for supporting healthy fetal development and maintaining maternal health. Knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors of pregnant women toward nutrition significantly influence their nutritional adequacy. However, many pregnant women still lack awareness of the importance of a balanced diet. This study employed a descriptive quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design. The sample consisted of 80 pregnant women visiting Kertapati Public Health Center (Puskesmas) and a Private Midwife Clinic (PMB) in Palembang City. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire covering variables of knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors. Data analysis utilized descriptive statistical methods to explore the characteristics and relationships among variables. The findings revealed that 52 respondents (65%) had "Poor" knowledge levels. Furthermore, 41 respondents (51.25%) exhibited "Low Concern" attitudes, and 43 respondents (53.75%) demonstrated "Poor" behaviors regarding nutritional adequacy during pregnancy. This study underscores the necessity for sustained nutritional education and counseling to improve awareness and behavior among pregnant women toward fulfilling their nutritional needs. Such interventions are expected to enhance maternal and neonatal health outcomes. Keywords. Pregnant Women, Nutrition, Knowledge, Attitudes, Behavior
