Abstract

Background: Hypertension is a major risk factor for many diseases such as vision problems, kidney disorders, stroke, congestive heart failure, and heart disease. Chronic Disease Management (PROLANIS) aims to ensure the health of chronic disease participants through holistic services and a proactive approach involving health facilities, participants, and BPJS Health. South Sumatra Province has 1,979,134 people with hypertension aged > 15 years in 2022. Palembang City has the highest number of people with hypertension, with 411,518 people. Objective: To analyze the factors that influence the utilization of the chronic disease management program (PROLANIS) in elderly patients in Seberang Ulu I District Palembang. Methods: This study used a cross-sectional design and quantitative approach. Samples used were 211 samples with a sampling method of Propotional Stratified Random Sampling (stratified random), bivariate data analysis using chi square test and multivariate confounding test using logistic regression. Results: The results of the chi square test showed that the variable gender (p = 0.264), education (p = 0.930), access to information (p = 0.460) and access to health services (p = 0.716) showed no relationship with the variable utilization of PROLANIS, with the variable age (p = 0.043) knowledge (p = 0.038), the role of health workers (p = 0.042) and family support (p = 0.025) showed a significant relationship with the variable utilization of PROLANIS. Conclusion: Improving social support starts from involving families and communities in supporting participants, such as accompanying visits to health facilities or assisting in carrying out home care plans. Form a support group or community for PROLANIS participants so that they can share experiences and motivation.
