Abstract

The air table is a tool that utilizes gravity (gravity concentration) in the process of separating valuable minerals from it’s tailing based on differences in specific gravity, shape, and size with wind as a separating medium. This tool is in the form of a table that is mechanically driven by a driving machine and uses air / wind media generated by an air blower in the separation process. The separation process by the air table is carried out in a dry process and the products produced are concentrate, middling, and tailings. In this study, there are several variables used to determine how much grade gain and recovery after processing. After that, the data obtained will be analyzed using SPSS software. The variables used are slope of deck, grain size, and air strength. 27 experiments were conducted with 27 different combinations of variables. The results showed that the highest Sn content obtained was 0,81 % at a slope of 7,92°, grain size of 70#, and air strength of 34,30 %, while the highest recovery obtained was 51,60 % at a slope of 5,27°, grain size of 70#, and air strength of 49,95%.
