Abstract

Vulnerability is the characteristic and condition of a community, system, or asset that makes it judged to be negatively affected or damaged if a disaster occurs. One of the disasters that often hit urban areas such as Palembang was a flood. There are several areas in Palembang that have the potential of being affected by floods, one of which is the area in Kelurahan Talang Aman, Kecamatan Kemuning, Kota Palembang. In this study will analyze the vulnerability of the region based on four types of vulnerability based on social, economic, physical, and environmental aspects. The analysis carried out in this study refers to the method in Perka BNPB No. 2 of 2012, the Sub-DAS Scale Method, and several other sources that can be used as the basis for providing quantitative and qualitative vulnerability assessments for flood disasters. Based on this analysis, it was found that the level of socio-economic vulnerability with a high category, on physical vulnerability was obtained by the medium category and on physical vulnerability carried out by giving a qualitative assessment. So that the final result of vulnerability to flooding in Kelurahan Talang Aman, Kecamatan Kemuning, Kota Palembang is categorized into moderate levels. Therefore to reduce this vulnerability several strategies are needed that must be developed both structurally and non-structurally.
