Abstract
The research objective was to analyze drying process of cassava rengginang using a hybrid tray dryer with solar and biomass stem of palm energy that passing trough heat exchanger. It was conducted from November 2014 to July 2015 in Agricultural Technology Department, Faculty Of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University, Inderalaya and Cassava Rengginang Home Industry Factory Bu Meijiani, Sukamulya Village, Inderalaya. Experimental method was used in this research consisted of dryer test, data input and data analysis. The observed parameters were water content, drying rate, energy analysis and drying efficiency. The result showed that final water content of cassava rengginang each solar, biomass and combination (solar-biomass) energy were 10.98% , 9.28% and 9.60% with drying rate 3.70% per hour, 6.27% per hour and 9.14% per hour, respectively. Total energy required for air heating is 23,919.52 kJ. Drying efficiency of dryer were 51.69% by solar energy, 14.64% by biomass energy and 11.41% by energy combination.
