Abstract
Whole body vibration (WBV) has long been known to cause musculoskeletal disorders. One of the groups exposed to WBV is the driver of heavy equipment. The study followed anatara relationship WBV and the incidence MSDs on the drivers of heavy equipment working on the trans-Sumatra highway projects in Lampung, Indonesia.WBV measurement carried out against 45 drivers, heavy equipment by using Vibration Meter and the results were compared with a set of standard applicable on WBV is ACGIH (2018), ISO 2631-1, EU Directive 2002 and the GOI. MSDs complaint obtained by using the table of contents Nordic Body Map.There is a significant correlation between the incidence of musculoskeletal disorders with the intensity of exposure to Whole Body Vibration on the driver's heavy equipment freeway projects. Musculoskeletal disorders incident to workers varies between different parts of the body between 51-100%, with shoulders 90.90%, forearm 97.52% , wrist 100%, lower back 99,35% and thighs 92.23%.
