Abstract

The purpose of this research were (1) to analyze institutional ever and play an active role in supporting the acceleration of rejuvenation of rubber in Desa Karang Endah Selatan Village, Gelumbang Sub district, Muara Enim regency, (2) to analyze the factors that affect the sustainability or institutional sustainability in Karang Endah Selatan Village, Gelumbang Sub district, Muara Enim regency, (3) to analyze institutional needed by the rubber farmers to support the success of rejuvenation activities, (4) to identifies the constraints faced by farmers in the rejuvenation of rubber in Karang Endah Selatan Village, Gelumbang Sub district, Muara Enim regency. This research was conducted in Karang Endah Selatan Village Gelumbang Sub-district of Muara Enim Regency. Data Collecting such as primary data and secondary data collection conducted in April until Mei 2014. The method used in this research was survey method. The research the sampling was simple random sampling with total of farmer sample were 30 farmers of 60 farmers who have old rubber/unproductive. The result showed that the institutional contained in Karang Endah Selatan Village in rubber farming systems play a role in supporting the rejuvenation is Cooperative, Farmers Group, Women Farmers, Institution investors of Banks, Department of Agriculture and Implementing agencies agricultular extension. The result analysis test Chi-Square of each factors that affect the sustainability of institutional composed of farmers consist of farmer motivation with, training and the needs of farmer. While the factor not persistence at who institutional consist of extension capability, consultation, attitude of farmer and when activity of farmer. Based on the test results Analysis Hierarchy Process (AHP) that the highest priority vector obtained by the Cooperative is 0.341. Lending institutions have priority vector is 0.235, Farmers Group has priority vector values is 0.188 and govemment assistance have priority vector is 0.111. Women Farmers and the Bank has priority vector of the same value is 0.063. There are three things that become obstacles and constraints for farmers who undertake rejuvenation, namely: (1) lack of Capital or funds owned by farmers, (2) Availability of seeds are still lacking, and (3) value selling rubber latex is not settled.
