Abstract

The purpose of this research are 1) to analyze the feasibility of curly red chilli farming in Tanjung Pering Village Sub-District Of North Indralaya District Ogan Ilir, 2) to determine the sensitivity of curly red chilli farming when there is a change in the amount of production, price, and cost of curly red chili farming in Tanjung Pering Village Sub-District Of North Indralaya District Ogan Ilir, 3) to develop a strategy for developing curly red chilli farming in Tanjung Pering Village Sub-District Of North Indralaya District Ogan Ilir. This research was done In Tanjung Pering Village Sub-District Of North Indralaya District Ogan Ilir. Data collection was conducted in February 2019 until May 2019. This study used a survey method and withdrawal method using simple random sampling method, as many as 34 samples. The land area of chili farmers in Tanjung Pering Village is 0,25 - 2 hectares. The results showed that, 1) Based on the results of the analysis, a positive NPV value of IDR.20.283.730 IRR value of 54 percent. Net B/C value is 2,13. The average BEP value is IDR.26.543.286 and the average unit BEP value is 1.327 kg. PBP value of 1,8 years. 2) The results of the sensitivity analysis show that curly red chilli farming in Tanjung Pering Village Sub-District Of North Indralaya District Ogan Ilir is very sensitive to the combination of price reduction (5,887%) and decreased production (5,887%). 3) Curly red chilli farming which is done in Tanjung Pering Village is located in cell V. The strategy that needs to be done to develop curly red chilli farming is by increasing the production of curly red chili, making VUC (Village Unit Cooperative), creating employment opportunities, strategic locations and relatively smooth access to consumers can make farmers smooth in marketing their products. As well as conducting and improving maintenance by utilizing technology, forming a farmer group to establish cooperation between farmers both in terms of knowledge of farming, appropriate pest and disease control, as well as in marketing products, increasing capital, procuring counseling, and diversifying products.
