Abstract

This study aims to: (1) describe the needs of lecturers and students in the Palembang Malay Traditional Theater Course for Modern Bangsawan Theater Performances Assisted by Flipbooks, (2) Produce a design for an E-module for Modern Bangsawan Theater Performances Assisted by Flipbooks based on the results of the analysis of the needs of lecturers and students of the Palembang Malay Traditional Theater Course, (3) explain the results of expert validation of the E-module for Modern Bangsawan Theater Performances Assisted by Flipbooks that have been created by the researcher, (4) find out the results of the beta test of the E-module for Modern Bangsawan Theater Performances Assisted by Flipbooks based on field trials on students. This research and development uses the Alessi & Trollip (2001) theory development method that has been built according to the researcher's needs. This E-module is compiled based on the results of the analysis of the needs of lecturers and students of the Palembang Malay Traditional Theater Course. Next, product design and development are carried out starting from the planning stage such as designing learning concepts, making flowcharts and storyboards, preparing materials, and combining designs and supporting elements. Then, an initial product trial is carried out through expert validation and continued by revising the product according to the suggestions of the validator. Expert validation is carried out by obtaining product assessments on the aspects of material, media, and language. In terms of material, the product obtained a score of 25 out of a total score of 28 (89.2%) or in the very feasible category. In terms of media, the results of media validation show that the product obtained a score of 19 out of a total score of 20 (95%) or in the very feasible category. In terms of language, the overall component value is 24 and the product gets a score of 23 (95.8%) or very feasible. Based on the validation results from the third expert, the Modern Noble Theater Performance E-module Assisted by Flipbook is feasible to be tested in the field with revisions according to the suggestions given. Based on the results of the field trial, gets a score of 93,8% it can be concluded that this e-module is very effective for use in learning to understand the components that can determine success in a performance.
