Abstract
The objective of the research was to get combination of growth regulators and coconut milk that gives best influence on shoot initiation of jatropha. The research was carried out at Tissue Culture Laboratory of Agriculture Faculty, Sriwijaya University, Indralaya. The experiment was consisting of six treatments, they were KO (MS + BA (3 mg/L) + IBA (1 mg/L» ; K1 (MS + BA (3 mg/L) + IBA (1 mg/L)+ Coconut Milk 150 ml /L) ; K2 (MS + BA (1,5 mg/L) + IBA (0,5 mg/L) + Coconut Milk 150 ml /L) ; K3 (MS + BA (3 mg/L) + Coconut Milk 150 ml /L) ; K4 (MS + IBA (1 mg/L) + Coconut Milk 150 ml /L) ; K.5 (MS + Coconut Milk 150 ml /L). The unit of experiment has 3 repetitions. The explants were taken from apical shoots. Media culture was solid MS (Murashige and Skoog). The result showed that the treatments did not give a significant efifect on observed parameters. However, treatment of K4 gave the best result in term of shoot for shoot growth rate, percentages of shooting explants and percentages of explants, that bore leaves in number and height.
