Abstract
The paraxylene manufacturing plant with a production capacity of 250,000 tonnes/year is planned to be established in 2028 in the Guntung industrial area, Bontang, East Kalimantan with an estimated area of 8.2 Ha. The raw materials for the manufacture of paraxylene are methanol and toluene. The process of making paraxylene refers to Patent US11179714 B2 with the methylation process of toluene and methanol which forms paraxylene. The reactor used is a multitubular fixed bed reactor operating at 450°C and 7 atm pressure. The plant is a Limited Liability Company (PT) with a Line and Staff organisation system, led by a Director with a total of 142 employees. Based on economic analysis, this paraxylene plant is feasible to establish because it has fulfilled the economic feasibility parameters, namely: a.Total Capital Investment = US $ 98.347.397,34 b.Selling Price per Year = US $ 372.832.304,10 c.Total Production Cost = US $ 265.240.309,92 d.Annual Cash Flow = US $ 82.466.218,66 e.Pay Out time = 1,2309 years f. Rate of return on investment = 76,58 % g. Discounted Cash Flow –ROR = 79,42 % h. Break Even Point = 31,42 % i.
