Abstract
The Rohingya conflict in Myanmar has become one of the worst humanitarian crises in Southeast Asia, posing a serious challenge to ASEAN's role in realizing positive peace. This research aims to analyze ASEAN's role in creating positive peace after the Rohingya conflict in Myanmar, with a focus on diplomatic strategies, humanitarian interventions and conflict resolution mechanisms carried out by this regional organization. Using a qualitative approach and literature study, this research explores the complexity of ASEAN's role in overcoming the root causes of ethnic and structural conflict in Myanmar. Johan Galtung's positive peace theory framework is used as a conceptual basis to explore ASEAN's efforts to address social injustice, discrimination and marginalization of the Rohingya ethnic group. The research results show that ASEAN faces a number of significant challenges in creating positive peace, including limited intervention mechanisms, strict non- intervention principles, and the complexity of relations between members. Nonetheless, the organization has demonstrated several diplomatic and humanitarian initiatives to promote reconciliation, facilitate dialogue, and provide humanitarian assistance. This research concludes that ASEAN's role in creating positive peace after the Rohingya conflict is still limited, but has the potential for development through a comprehensive approach that pays attention to social justice, human rights and sustainable reconciliation.
