Abstract

PT Timah (Persero) Tbk. is the largest tin mining company located in the Province of Bangka Belitung with the mining process that is carried out is conducive. Unconventional tin mining activity causes impacts such as sea surface water pollution and public waters, barren land, the holes are not maintained, the occurrence of coastal erosion, and damage nature reserves. Such impacts are caused by PT Timah has an obligation to implement Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) based on existing regulations. This study aimed to determine the CSR process conducted by PT Timah which includes planning, implementation, reporting, and monitoring and evaluation of programs based on existing standards such as ISO 26000 and GRI. The data used in this study is data from 2009 until 2013. The type of approach used in this research is descriptive qualitative method approach. Results from this study showed that from 2009 until 2013, the CSR process conducted by PT Timah has always done well and has increase in every year. In addition, CSR process conducted by PT Timah in accordance with existing standards such as ISO 26000 and GRI.
