Abstract

One of the structural elements designed to withstand earthquakes is the beam-column joint, which serves as a responsive area for the distribution of seismic loads, requiring a design that meets seismic criteria. This study aims to analyze the performance of SCC beam-column joints with variations in stirrup spacing under cyclic loading. The analysis was conducted using ANSYS software based on the finite element method. The outputs include hysteresis curves, displacements, stress contours, ductility, stiffness, structural strength, and cumulative energy dissipation. The performance of beam-column joints made of normal concrete with a stirrup spacing of 100 mm was compared to joints using SCC material with various stirrup spacing configurations. The results show that the lowest ductility value of 8.718 was achieved by the J3 beam-column joint due to its shorter displacement. Meanwhile, the J1 beam-column joint exhibited the highest cumulative energy dissipation, as it could reach the maximum displacement of 50 mm in the pushing direction and -50 mm in the pulling direction. This study concludes that variations in stirrup spacing significantly affect the structural performance under cyclic loading.
