Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melakukan profiling audience komunikasi kesehatan dengan cara menganalisis apa yang melatar belakangi masyarakat Kelurahan Keramasan Kota Palembang dalam mempertahankan perilaku sanitasi yang belum memadai menggunakan Health Belief Model. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif melalui pengumpulan data deskriptif yang di dapatkan dari observasi, wawancara dan pendokumenan. Health Belief Model yang dipakai dalam penelitian ini dikemukakan oleh Resenstock dan kemudian dikembangkan oleh Becker et al. dengan 6 dimensi utama Perceived Susceptibility (Persepsi Kerentanannya), Perceived Severity (Persepsi Keparahannya), Perceived Benefits (Persepsi Manfaatnya), Perceived Barriers (Persepsi Hambatannya), Cues to Action (Petunjuk untuk Bertindak) dan Self-efficacy (Efikasi Diri). Hasil penelitian ini menemukan bahwasanya masyarakat Kelurahan Keramasan Kota Palembang mempunyai Perceived Susceptibility, Perceived Severity, Perceived Benefits, Cues to Action, dan Self-efficacy. Namun Perceived Barriers masyarakat meliputi faktor ekonomi, pendidikan, dan kurangnya tepatnya strategi intervensi kesehatan menjadi alasan masyarakat bertahan dalam perilaku kesehatan yang tidak memadai. Penelitian ini turut pula menemukan bahwasanya anggapan psikologis dapat membentuk pemahaman terbiasa yang membuat masyarakat bertahan.
