Abstract

Creativity as one of the 4C skills is a 21st century skill that every individual must have in solving problems. This study aims to produce a STEAM-based circle learning path with a top context to support students' creative thinking skills and see students' creative thinking skills after using a STEAM-based circle learning design with a top context. The study used design research method type validation study by Gravemeijer which consists of preparation phase, design experiment, and retrospective analysis. The research subjects were 9th grade students of SMP Negeri 13 Palembang who were selected purposively. Data were collected through written tests, interviews and document studies, and analyzed descriptively. The results showed that the learning trajectory on STEAM-based circle material with a spinning top context to support students' creative thinking skills can be applied in the learning process to support students' creative thinking skills. The resulting learning trajectory is in the form of a flow of activities and activities carried out by students in the classroom to achieve the learning objectives that have been set previously. After applying the STEAM-based circle learning design with a top context, it encourages learners to think creatively as a whole. Learners not only learn to understand the concept of circles theoretically, but are also able to apply it in real situations, explore various possibilities, and solve problems innovatively. This directly supports creative thinking skills, namely indicators of fluent thinking, flexible thinking, original thinking, and elaboration skills.
