Abstract

This research aims to determine the growth response to bangle rhizomes (Zinger purpureum Roscoe.) at varying concentrations of Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobacteria (PGPR). PGPR plays a role in improving plant development by synthesizing and controlling the concentration of several phytohormones (growth regulators) in the root environment. This research was carried out from February to October 2024 at the Biology Department, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Experimental House, and Physiology and Development Laboratory, Sriwijaya University. Using a completely randomized design (CRD), this study used 5 immersion treatments with varying PGPR concentrations. Based on research that has been carried out, variations in PGPR concentration affect the growth of rhizomes, especially in response to growth in the number of shoots, shoot length, number of tillers, number of leaves, number of roots and root length. The percentage of shoot growth and the percentage of root growth were 100%, meanwhile the rhizomes soaked with a concentration of 175 ppm and the number of shoots at 175 and 225 ppm obtained better results.
