Abstract

EFFECTIVENESS OF THE UNHABILITABLE HOUSE RENOVATION PROGRAM (Study at the Baznas Institution of South Bengkulu Regency) ABSTRACT The purpose of the study was to analyze the effectiveness of zakat distribution at Baznas Bengkulu Selatan in the home renovation program and the variables that support and hinder the utilization of the home renovation program. The method and approach used in the study were the inductive method and the type of field research with a subjective approach. Data collection techniques included interviews, observations, and documentation. Data collection through interviews with Baznas (officers in the field of collection, distribution and usage), and the Division of budget management and detailing) and recipients of home renovation assistance. . The results of the study indicate that the planning of zakat distribution at Baznas Bengkulu Selatan through the home renovation program has been running well planning, implementation, supervision, and assessment. The implementation of the house improvement program has shown to be extremely beneficial. Recipients of home renovation assistance are right on target based on the level of need, where recipients of assistance must have met all needs and an evaluation of the damage or suitability of the house or those who have not received assistance from the government is carried out. As a result, they are eligible for housing aid. This is in agreement with the categorization of beneficiary households, ensuring that home remodeling help is provided to those who truly require it and have uninhabitable homes. Inhibiting variables include the need for community participation in the surrounding area, especially if the recipient of assistance is in the city; the house ownership certificate is still in the hands of the guardian or family; areas that are difficult to reach; and limited facilities and infrastructure for prospective recipients of renovation assistance, even though they physically meet the requirements, minimal human resources at Baznas Bengkulu Selatan, and limited funds for home renovation assistance. Supporting factors for recipients of assistance in rural areas are the very good enthusiasm of the community and the spirit of mutual cooperation. Keywords: Home Renovation Program, Effectiveness.
