Abstract

Some important factors to consider in an effort to increase maize production include the use of varieties and the use of organic and inorganic fertilizers. The research was conducted in Balai Agro Techno Park (ATP), Bakung Village, North Indralaya District, Ogan Ilir Regency, South Sumatera from March 2014 to June 2011 using the split split splot design that consists of 3 factors with 18 treatment combination and 3 replication. The crops in main plot were are corn (R1) and cowpea (R2), the second factors were the doses of organic fertilizer (5 tons/ha, 10 tons/ha dan 15 tons/ha), the third factors is the doses of inorganic fertilizer (0%,10%,15%). Observed variabels were are : analysis of soil, analysis weeds, plant height (cm), leaf chlorophyll, days to flowering (day) , cob length (cm), cob diameter (cm), cob weight (g), The number of seeds by cobs (seed), the number of seeds per row (seed), weight of 100 seeds (g), crop stover (g). The result showed that the combination treatment of corn rotation combining with the utilizing of 15 tons/ha organic fertilizer and 50% inorganic fertilizer gave the highest growth response and the biggest yield of corn production soil organic matter on land formerly used for cowpea decreased and at the former land of corn has increased after treated using doses of organic and inorganic fertilizers and the results showed that there are differences in weed growing prior to planting and after treatment of organic and inorganic fertilizers. Weeds are dominant in the former land of cowpea in maize contained in the organic fertilizer 10 tons / ha and 50% inorganic fertilizer and on the former land of corn on organic fertilizer 15 tons / ha and 100% inorganic fertilizer.
