Abstract

This study aims to determine the implementation of the diversion mechanism in resolving cases of child narcotics crime in Polresta Palembang using a descriprive method with a qualitative approach. Informants in this study are the police and parents of children involved in narcotics crime. Data collection techniques used were documentation, interviews and observations. The validity test of the data used includes the credibility test, the transferability test, and the dependability test. Data analysis techniques used are data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Based on the results of the analysis of data that has been done previously, it can be concluded that diversion is a diversion of the settlement of cases of children suspected of committing certain criminal acts from the formal criminal process to the peaceful settlement between the suspect / defendant / criminal offender and victims facilitated by the family and / or the community, Community Guidance for Children, Police, Prosecutors or Judges. The application of the diversion is intended to reduce the negative impact of children's involvement in a judicial process. Juvenile Justice is a justice system that is restorative justice by prioritizing the needs and interests of the future. Key words: Child Narcotics Crime, Diversity, Law
