Abstract

ABSTRACT In Indonesia, the prevalence of HIV among female sex workers (FSWs) has become a concern, with recent statistics indicating a decline in cases while still highlighting the vulnerabilities of this group, including factors such as frequent partner changes and unsafe working conditions. This study aims to identify the aspects related to HIV AIDS prevention behaviors among FSWs. This research utilized a cross-sectional design conducted in Prabumulih City. Data were collected through a structured questionnaire assessing knowledge, attitudes, and practices related to HIV prevention. Analysis of data from 204 FSWs respondents revealed significant associations between HIV AIDS prevention behaviors and several factors: FSWs' attitudes towards HIV AIDS (p=<0.001; OR=2.786), peer attitudes towards FSWs (p=0.009; OR=2.270), and the availability of facilities (p=<0.001; OR=3.240). Multivariate analysis indicated that the availability of facilities was the dominant factor related to HIV AIDS prevention behaviors (aOR=2.505). The study concludes that although there has been an increase in awareness and preventive practices among FSWs, substantial barriers remain. Educational programs focused on HIV prevention and better access to healthcare services are essential. These efforts can help protect FSWs and their clients from HIV and other sexually transmitted infections. Keywords : Female Sex Workers, FSWs, HIV AIDS Prevention, Preventive Measures. References : 88 (2003-2024) ABSTRAK Di Indonesia, prevalensi HIV di antara Wanita Pekerja Seksual (WPS) dengan angka statistik yang menunjukkan penurunan kasus namun tetap menyoroti kerentanan pada kelompok ini, seperti faktor sering bergantinya pasangan dan kondisi kerja yang tidak aman. Dengan adanya berbagai faktor yang berkontribusi pada kerentanan mereka, sehingga diperlukan langkah-langkah pencegahan efektif. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui faktor yang berhubungan dengan tindakan pencegahan HIV AIDS pada WPS. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain cross-sectional yang dilakukan di Kota Prabumulih. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner terstruktur yang menilai pengetahuan, sikap dan praktik terkait pencegahan HIV. Dari 204 responden WPS didapatkan hasil analisis bahwa ada hubungan yang signifikan terhadap faktor sikap wps tentang HIV AIDS (p=<0,001; OR=2,786, sikap teman sebaya tentang WPS (p=0,009; OR=2,270) dan ketersediaan fasilitas (p=<0,001; OR=3,240) dengan tindakan pencegahan terhadap HIV AIDS. Sedangkan berdasarkan hasil analisis multivariat menunjukkan ketersediaan fasilitas sebagai variabel dominan terkait dengan tindakan pencegahan HIV AIDS (aOR=2,505) Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa meskipun ada peningkatan dalam kesadaran dan praktik pencegahan di kalangan WPS, masih terdapat hambatan substansial. Program pendidikan khusus tentang pencegahan HIV yang ditargetkan untuk mendidik WPS serta peningkatan akses ke layanan kesehatan terhadap WPS sehingga dapat bermanfaat dari segi protektif terhadap penyakit HIV dan IMS bagi WPS dan pelanggannya.
