Abstract

To minimize the damage that occurs suddenly in industrial engine, the planning of the treatment should be prepared as good as possible. One way of detecting the damage of an equipment system is by analyzing the characteristics of vibration that caused by the system. It is needed a vibration measuring instrument to measure the vibration. The vibration measuring instrument is not a cheap tool, and can only be reached by the middle industry group and up. Therefore, the vibration measuring instrument which is much cheaper and can be used to detect damage in an engine is needed. The vibration measuring instrument used is composed of MEMS Accelerometer ADXL 345 sensor, microcontroller Arduino UNO, and is programmed using MATLAB software. This measuring instrument is used to detect the bearing defect. From the result of the analysis it is found that the vibration in normal and defective bearing shows the characteristic of different spectrum in the radial direction which is x and y. In the axial directed of z-axis the response of vibration signal is not detected. In defective bearing condition, signal characteristics from FFT spectrum has various amplitude vibration value in the range of frequency 23-33 Hz with the highest value of amplitude vibration are 0,35g and 0,43g.
