Abstract

Lebak swamps are swamps that are inundated with more than half a meter of water and have the potential to be productive land for agriculture, such as rice cultivation. However, farmers' knowledge of fertilization is still limited, often not in accordance with field conditions, and is more influenced by economic factors, so that crop yields are less than optimal and the soil is quickly damaged. To develop site-specific fertilization recommendations, soil nutrient analysis as well as soil chemical properties are required so that fertilizer doses can be determined appropriately to increase rice productivity. The research aims to determine the right dose of fertilizer for site specific fertilization of wetland rice paddies and analyze rice production results after fertilization in Ulak Bedil Village, Ogan Ilir Regency. This research used a detailed survey method with a map scale of 1:4,000 and the application of fertilizer doses using a group randomized design carried out in Ulak Bedil Village from June to December 2024. The observed variables were soil pH, C-Organic, N-Total, P-available, K-dd, 1000 grain weight, total productive tillers, grain yield and plant nutrient uptake. The results showed that the right dose of fertilization affects the yield of rice production. At 100% dose, 97.83 kg ha-1 Urea and 121.40 kg ha-1 KCl were used, while 50% dose was half of the 100% dose. The recommended dose refers to 200 kg ha-1 Urea, 100 kg ha-1 SP-36, and 100 kg ha-1 KCl. The average results showed that the recommended dose produced the highest grain weight, at 5.65 tons ha-1, while the 100% dose produced 5.47 tons ha-1, slightly lower but still close to the recommended dose. The 50% dose had the lowest yield, at 4.85 tons ha-1. The application of the 100% dose on limited land can increase the efficiency of nutrient absorption, and in some conditions, the results are almost equivalent to the recommended dose, especially with more controlled fertilizer use.
